چکیده

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) became the most prevalent health problem. Almost half of world's people are ignorant that have diabetes. Menopause occurs as an important alteration in women through which take place change sex hormones, distribution fat،s body, and metabolism, altogether participate metabolism disease such type mellitus. Several studies appeared association between TCF7L2 gene different diseases like (T2DM). This study aimed to detect relation genetic variation polymorphism for (rs12255372 G/T) Iraqi menopausal with T2DM. The outcomes indicated increased levels biochemical characteristics including HbA1C, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, Prolactin, Progesterone, Estrogen decreased level HDL significant differences (P<0.05). While there was no SNP patients T2DM when compared control (P>0.05). Although a genotypes this SNP. In conclusion (rs12255372G/T) is not represented risk factor

Association of rs12255372 in the TCF7L2 gene with type 2 diabetes mellitus: a meta-analysis

Our objective was to evaluate the association of rs12255372 in the TCF7L2 gene with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the world population. We carried out a survey of the literature about the effect of rs12255372 on genetic susceptibility to T2DM by consulting PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Embase from 2006 to 2012, and then performed a meta-analysis of all the studies in order to evaluate ...

BACKGROUND To study the relationship between the rs12255372 (G/T) polymorphism of the transcription factor 7-like 2 (TCF7L2) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in a Cameroonian population. METHODS This case-control study included 60 T2DM patients and 60 healthy normoglycemic controls, all unrelated and of Cameroonian origin, aged above 40 years (range 40-87). The Restriction Fragment Length ...

ASSOCIATION ANALYSIS BETWEEN RS10830962 VARIANT OF MTNR1B GENE AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS RISK

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is the most common type of diabetes that was classically characterized by pancreatic β-cell dysfunction. Changes in circadian patterns is one of the reasons which can increase the occurrence of diabetes. Melatonin is one of the biological molecules which plays an important role in regulating the circadian clock and also an inhibitory effect on insulin...

Association of the rs11196218 polymorphism in TCF7L2 with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Asian population

OBJECTIVE To clarify the association of rs11196218 polymorphism in transcription factor 7-like 2 (TCF7L2) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Asian population by a case-control study and meta-analysis. METHODS In the case-control study, 1842 patients with T2DM and 7777 normal glucose-tolerant controls in the Henan province of China were genotyped for rs11196218 in TCF7L2 by PCR-ligase dete...

Association of the TCF7L2 rs12255372 (G/T) variant with type 2 diabetes mellitus in an Iranian population

In various populations worldwide, common variants of the TCF7L2 (Transcription factor 7-like 2) gene are associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim was to investigate the association between rs12255372 (G/T) polymorphism in the TCF7L2 gene and T2DM in an Iranian population. 236 unrelated patients with T2DM, and 255 normoglycemic controls without diabetes were studied. ...
